Opal ring featuring five natural crystal opals which display lively pastel colour play.
The opals are set into an attractive milgrain bezel setting which is rarely seen in opal jewellery due to the skill required.
Opals are a delicate gemstone and need to be worn with care.
A superbly designed piece which would be a wonderful addition to any antique jewellery collection.

Hallmarks:
Stamped 18ct Gold with makers mark.

Unlike pure 24 carat gold, lesser carats are an alloy of gold with a mixture of various metals added such as copper or silver. Antique jewellery (ie. Georgian/ Victorian) was often not hallmarked, as compulsory hallmarking of all precious metals did not begin until the 1920’s, only becoming law in 1973. Consequently assay offices carry a pre-1950’s exemption from hallmarking. This means that any piece pre-dating the 1950’s that is not hallmarked is exempt from the normal requirements of the assay office.
